Many people ask me where the wood comes from. The answer is in this photo.
Before there is a frame, a table, or a board, there is a walk along the coast. Sometimes across the sand, other times over rocks and cliffs, where the sea leaves behind the most beautiful pieces. No two mornings are alike: it depends on the tide, the wind, and luck.
Every log I find has spent years at sea. The water and salt have given it a texture and color that no machine can replicate. My job is to understand what that wood wants to become.
That is why I say that every piece is unique. I don't choose the wood from a catalogue. It is the wood that finds me.
In the next articles, I will show what happens next, from the beach to the workshop.
